About US

The St. Raymond Nonnatus Foundation For Freedom, Family, and Faith is a foundation established in the United States by a 13th century religious order called the Order of Our Lady of Mercy.

The foundation is an "expression" of the fourth vow of our friars. While Mercedarians take ordinary vows of chastity, poverty, and obedience, they take a fourth vow which is "to be ready to do everything possible even offering our lives if necessary in order to free Christians who are in danger of losing their faith".

Since we, as part of the Mercedarian family, see solid Catholic family life as a critical foundation to the Catholic faith, we live this mission. The Mercedarians in the United States have discerned that we must focus our efforts on coming to the aid of Christians in their family life through our prayers and through this special charism.

We come to their aid in times of need through our prayers and through the offering of ourselves for the good of family-life. When there is a risk of "losing one's faith" especially in light of divorce, separation and remarriage without annulment, the foundation is there in prayerful support.

St. Raymond Nonnatus is a saint of the Mercedarian Religious Order, and he was miraculously born by Cesarean Section 800 years ago. At that time this in itself was "miraculous" since

C-Sections were not common at that time. He is the patron of family life, of expectamt mothers, and of those "falsely accused". Everything we do within the foundation is rooted in the special vow to give our lives for those in danger of losing their faith and for the good of families and individuals in need of our redemptive assistance.

We Need Your Help

Our culture is changing quickly. Technology and our fast-paced lives are increasing more each day. Even those of deep faith are tempted to neglect prayer and go to our phones more than necessary.

The St. Raymond Nonnatus Foundation for Freedom, Family, and Faith cares about all age groups and our ministry is for every member of the family from babies in the womb until natural death. Millennials and the IGEN population or "young adults" have temptations, but perhaps those related to falling away from faith, neglecting the Sacraments and prayer are some of them. There are other temptations, but getting on track with honoring the faith is of monumental importance. This matters to us.

The foundation would love to ask young adult Catholics to become a closer part of our mission to make outreach to every age but especially to "young adults". We would ask you to check-out our website at www.nonnatus.org and all of our social media pages. Considering promoting the work we do and our mission for family-life. "Philly Mercedarian" is our social media profile name and the St. Raymond Nonnatus Foundation is on Facebook and Twitter. Join us.

We Need Your Prayers

Most of all, please pray for us and consider joining us as part of the "Mercedarian family". You can also consider becoming a member of our Third Order which we now have free on-line classes to attend. We would love to hear from you, so please email Anne at director.srnf@gmail.com if you have any interest in collaborating with us in some way.

We would also love to write a blog or do an interview to discuss ways we can make better outreach to our Millennial and IGEN friends. Thank you for your support, and please pray for us. We continue our prayers for YOU too!
